Proposed Pine Brook Park Playground Renovation
The Pine Brook Association worked with the Village of Larchmont to once again renovate the playground at Pine Brook Park to update the park with new equipment, a new safety surface, and landscaping. The park was previously renovated in 1999. Since then some of the playground equipment had been damaged and appropriately removed, but was not replaced. The Pine Brook Association's renovation project sought to add play equipment that was designed for younger park users and that was also handicap accessible.
The new playground will provide fun for the children who live in the area. In addition, when the children of Pine Brook residents come back to visit Larchmont, they will be able to bring their children to the park, and create new memories of Pine Brook Park. The Association aimed to bring back some of the playground equipment that was nostalgic to those who lived in the Pine Brook community in the 1980s and 1990s.
This project also improved the landscaping. Such updates included new benches, new ground material for the updated playground, a new and more stable support wall, and new trees. Much of this landscaping was donated by Larchmont Nurseries.
